Angela spends time with each party during a confidential intake session prior to commencing mediation or parenting co-ordination to assess the complexities arising from the matter, understand each participant’s perspective and prepare participants for services.
Angela is admitted as an Australian Lawyer however prefers not to practise law so that she is able to independently specialise in alternative dispute resolution. Angela is a nationally accredited (AMDRAS) mediator, registered family dispute resolution practitioner, trained Parenting Co-ordinator listed with Parenting Co-ordination Australia, is a qualified Trainer and Assessor and a licensed Mental Health First Aid Instructor.
Angela has successfully completed a Master of Laws (Applied Law) majoring in Family Dispute Resolution Practice and is one of only a limited number of practitioners who has successfully completed this highly regarded post graduate legal qualification. Angela is registered with the Attorney-General’s Department qualifying her to issue section 60I certificates if required.
Angela has over 30 years experience in managing people. This is the foundation of her success in leading mediations for matters relating to workplace, commercial and family disputes, particularly where parties are emotionally entrenched in conflict often associated with positional thinking. Angela is an advanced skilled practitioner who provides a stabilising presence during facilitated discussions.
Angela prepares participants with preliminary information about mediation so they may engage in the negotiation process with confidence and maximise their opportunities to reach agreements. Angela makes it her business to ensure that participants feel safe, their perspectives heard and empowers participants to negotiate in good faith. She is experienced in facilitating sessions involving independent translators, lawyers, accountants and financial advisors.
